Are you a new teller? This series is for you. We will cover foundational topics to equip you with the knowledge and skills to confidently handle your new role.
You will learn the daily teller responsibilities like the basics of processing transactions, the importance of cash handling, the basics of checks, teller compliance, security and fraud procedures.
This program will complete training requirements for: BSA, Regulation CC, and Security. You will receive Certificates of Attendance, a recording of all sessions, and a Teller Handbook.
What You’ll Learn
Section I: Welcome to the Financial Industry (January 27)
During this section, we will introduce you to working in the Financial Industry. We will talk about what it means to be a professional in this industry. This includes dress code and appearance and work place etiquette. . You will learn what a day in the life of a teller is like. We will talk about communication skills and learn how to gain the confidence of customers. We will talk about the different types of bank products and services and how these transactions are processed.
Section II: Types of products and services and Cash Handling (February 3)
During this section, We will look at counting currency, protecting your drawer, balancing. The importance of dual control and all things cash. You will learn how to detect counterfeit currency and avoid loss to your financial institution.
Section III: Checks and Legal Issues (February 10)
During this section, You will learn about the checks and how they should be endorsed. You will learn about Regulation CC and how to place hold on checks. We will also discuss the types of checks fraud.
Section IV: Security, Fraud, and BSA Red Flags (February 17)
Our final section is on BSA and security. Learn your role in protecting the financial institution from money laundering. We will talk about questions that have to be asked and answered by account holders when transacting for the elderly and other vulnerable customers. We also how to how to report suspicous activity to your BSA/AML Officer. Learn about security fundamentals- physical , cyber and information.
Who Should Attend?

Leslie Nicely, Senior Vice President for Gettechnical Inc. brings with her a wealth of practical banking experience. Her 30+ years include various positions with a local community bank including teller, teller supervisor, new accounts, lending, Branch Administration Officer, BSA/AML Officer and Security Officer and more. She graduated from the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management. Her experience includes management, operations, lending compliance, fraud management, training, security and customer service. Her down-to-earth approach to training and her technical expertise makes her a real asset to our industry.

The cost to attend this webinar series is $599 for one connection to each webinar*. Please register the person you wish to receive the log-in and handouts links.
*You may have as many listeners as you wish for your ONE connection (ONE computer login). If you would like additional logins for additional locations/computers, please contact our office or note names and email addresses in the comments sections of the registration form. A fee of $100 will be billed for each additional login.
Registration fees include instruction, live interaction with the instructor, any materials and manuals used by the instructor (digital), and a link to the recordings of the class. (You will have unlimited access to the recording for 90 days.)
Cancellation and More Information
Full registration fees will be refunded if a cancellation is received on or before ten business days prior to the meeting. If the date of cancellation is less than ten days prior to the meeting, a $75 processing fee will be retained. No refunds will be given for cancellations made the day of the program.
